Case Study: The Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet: BETA BI Training
“A series of eLearning modules to provide entry-level BI foundation skills”
The Challenge
One of the BETA Team’s roles is communicating behavioural economics within the APS, which has created a high demand for training services in this area. To expand the number of APS staff to access Behavioural Insights (BI) training, BETA contracted us to develop a series of eLearning modules to provide entry-level BI foundation skills. Considering the learning objectives, the application of BI in the government context needed to be demonstrated using relevant and relatable case studies or examples.
The eLearning series also needed to comply with some technical and other requirements, such as; WCAG 2AA accessibility, compatibility with PM&C’s existing ITC systems and a (then) future cloud-based platform (AZURE), and branding guidelines. BETA also required an appropriate evaluation tool that could provide evidence of the learning solution’s effectiveness and capture information about key learner demographics.
Our Approach
We designed, developed and delivered an eLearning course comprising seven modules within six weeks. We were also engaged to host the training course in a cloud-based LMS (Moodle).
Outcomes
The products were delivered in a very tight timeframe, achieved through a collaborative and flexible working relationship between the BETA and the Liberate team.
