Startup Essentials Business Simulation: Our Simulation For Tomorrow’s Entrepreneurs
Start-ups play a crucial role in driving innovation, stimulating the labor market, and shaping society. However, the journey to self-employment is far from easy, as numerous factors need to be considered for a successful start-up endeavour. That’s where Startup Essentials comes in. Powered by TOPSIM, this realistic business simulation allows participants to experience the typical steps of a business start-up and learn how to effectively manage their own company.
Similar to our business simulation, Management Essentials, Startup Essentials is designed to teach participants the fundamentals of business. It is an ideal choice for introductory events within Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs across all fields of study, as well as business seminars, start-up companies, and corporate courses that foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
What is Startup Essentials about?
In Startup Essentials, we simulate the entire start-up process, from developing a business idea to launching the company. Our example revolves around a surfboard manufacturer. Unlike our other simulations where participants manage existing companies, here we guide them through the process of setting up a business. Throughout the development of the business model and the preparation of the business plan, participants receive support from our business planning tool and the newly developed search platform called “Startup Web.” As part of the exercise, participants are challenged to convince investors about their business idea and secure the necessary capital. Only after the start-up phase concludes do participants assume the role of company management, allowing them to analyse the success of their business model and the previously defined strategy in the market.
